Greetings!
Welcome to the Task Force 89 recruitment forums, thanks for checking out this post and if your are indeed interested in an Arma 3 tactical realism experience please continue reading and see if TF89 is the right group for you.
We are a small group of experienced gamers and tactical shooter/milsim gamers who have recently come together to form our own community group focused on Arma 3. Our goal in founding our own Arma community group is to create an environment that offers a dynamic, captivating, and serious but fun take on the tactical co-op/milsim aspect of Arma, as well as assisting in coordinating for other games our members enjoy.
We strive to allow freedom to play the roles you want and move freely between in game taskings from mission set to mission set. Essentially, we are a “fun first” gaming community that is focused around Arma. Despite being a new unit among the many in the Arma community, our founding members are eager, driven and focused on making good on our vision - within a week of deciding to create TF89 we had established a TS3 server, Arma 3 Server and general purpose mission template, unit XML/logo and our own modpack.
What may be the most unique aspect of our unit’s approach to tactical gaming, particularly our organized Arma events, is a system of “Micro-Deployments” and the ability to switch roles (ie. from Marksman to Pilot to Teamleader, etc.) with every new operation. This system will provide relatively short time frames where a set of missions will come together under an overarching storyline for 4 to 6 weeks, during which members will fill set roles for which they are qualified. Upon the next operation, taskings are reopened and spots are filled with the only limitations being qualification for specialized roles; roles such as pilot, drone operator, sniper/marksman/recon taskings are considered specialized roles that require a proven aptitude to apply to deploy therein.
All in all, we look to provide an always interesting and fresh experience while still being able to settle into and “find your groove” within a role. While scheduled story driven deployments are part of the experience, we are seeking active members that are around and looking to play pick up missions or even other games; again, making friends and having fun is the core of what this community is about.
